Canopy is a creative studio offering fresh and engaging design
for creative small businesses. We craft distinctive brand narratives marked by
cleverness and simplicity. Let our designs give shape to your brilliant idea.
As a small business, we understand the demands of your growing to-do list. That’s why we’ve made it our business to nurture your growing endeavor. Why the name Canopy? It draws upon a notable image of a primitive home hewn from simple materials, yet elegantly crafted to form an intricate canopy. In the same way, our studio strives to offer an uncomplicated process that yields sophisticated solutions.
Let CANOPY take care of your business.
Jaqueline Cross is a makeup artist best known for her infectious laugh. Playing-off her legendary personality and romantic style, CANOPY crafted an identity that is playfully warm and darkly romantic. A distinct watermelon hue and spirited type offset a moody floral pattern to create a unique and striking quality.
Emily and Co. is a California-based design and planning studio helmed by Emily Nygaard. To showcase the studio’s fresh approach - which fuses Emily’s years of experience with each couple’s unique story, - CANOPY derived a modern identity system that implements subtle color-blocking to go along with a simple, geometric logo.
Cafe Juniper is a small cafe dishing up modern diner food inspired by South American fare. The owners aimed to create a friendly neighborhood space for locals to chat, linger, and meet new people. With that in mind, CANOPY devised a sprightly visual system defined by uneven lettering, abstract shapes, and eye-catching colors.
The best design solutions are achieved when we work together.
That’s why our 3-step process fosters thoughtful collaboration between client and designer.
Here’s a snapshot of what it looks like to work with CANOPY.
Who is your audience? What do they care about? Are they connecting to your brand? In this phase, we’ll use the answers to a personalized questionnaire to inform a strategy for reaching your audience. we’ll refine several design directions, generate a mood board, and conceive basic design elements to form the building blocks of your brand.
With a single design direction in place, the studio will develop several concepts based on the selected strategy. As good design takes time, this phase can take several weeks up to several months. Working in partnership with each client, we’ll proceed through several revisions until a final design is reached, and your brand’s story is achieved.
We’ll spend this final phase fine-tuning the chosen design. This includes optimization for digital viewing, print production, colorization, and issues of legibility. Revisions made in this phase are quick and easy, and do not involve changes to the overall design. Once these revisions are made, the process is complete and you’re good-to-go.
